Thesis Abstract
Assurance is a communal facility geared towards individuals experiencing homelessness and the surrounding Lynn community. It will have a comprehensive trade program that will allow individuals to gain sustaining skills that will allow them to become integral members of the community and promote a sense of upward mobility. Regenerative design is the key because it connects relationships between the physical, built, and natural environments and can encourage education. This supports the resources for sustainable jobs, affordable housing, and a healthy lifestyle. With this, families can feel empowered and encouraged to start the rebuilding process within their lives without fear of reoccurring homelessness and with the support of the surrounding community. The end result is a space that not only sustains all the user’s needs on-site but also contributes to the health and wellbeing of the surrounding environment and community.
