Artist Biography
Jessie Vancelette is a senior at Endicott College that will be graduating in May with her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Architecture. She has completed 2 separate internships at local firms in MA where she was noticed and commended for being creative, hardworking and responsive. After graduation she plans on working at either an up-and-coming firm, or sharing her modern style ideas at a well established firm. She has work experience in both hospitality and retail environments, which has strengthened her communication skills and abilities to multitask. She studied abroad in Florence, Italy in Fall 2020 and traveled many other places while she was there including Paris, Berlin and Barcelona. These places inspired many of her elements in her thesis project.
Thesis Abstract
The New Heights Senior Day Center will bring a return to the teaching and learning methods of early childhood education as well as the presence of nature to seniors to enhance the quality of life for those suffering from dementia and Alzheimers. This will be an adult day care center that provides necessary care for seniors through montessori classrooms, biophilic design throughout space, and a very comfortable and calming environment. There will be natural materials and very home-like elements in the center to ensure comfort and trust within the patients.
