Thesis Abstract

Climate Change is a direct response to human activity. The Process of burning fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases that are negatively affecting climate change, food supply, air pollution, rising sea levels, etc. It is predicted that the effects of climate change will be irreversible within the next 11 years. The average american contributes the most carbon dioxide pollution from transportation as well as heating and cooling their residential homes. What can humans do to evolve their lifestyle and living patterns within a residential community to decrease the devastating consequences of climate change? Baby Boomers as a generation have produced the highest levels of carbon emissions known to mankind. As a generation so uneducated about the effect of climate change, it is believed that with some support this attitude towards the environment can be reversed into a fulfilling transformation in their latter years of life. By supplying Boomers with a community driven, aging in place living facility, with intentions of fulfilling lives with education and environmental action can reverse their contribution to the enormous carbon footprint their generation has created.
