Thesis Abstract

The Peabody Public Safety building is a Space where first responders can live and work while having a positive impact on their mental health and well-being. Centered around the community and how to strengthen the bond with them while they can support their first responders. Incorporating the Sundown Therapy Center on the third floor to give first responders an area to seek help from professionals or each other as well as just let aggressions out after tough calls. Throughout the space, it is designed using seven different design theories, space planning, color theory, prospect and refuge, functionalism, connection to others, biophilia, and safety areas. These theories help create a beneficial impact on our first responder in their home away from home.
