Thesis Abstract
Mozaic is an editorial magazine that celebrates individuality, self-expression, and the layered nature of identity through fashion and visual storytelling. Designed for a young, creative audience, Mozaic explores how personal style evolves over time and how it reflects deeper narratives of growth, culture, and belonging. The magazine serves as both a platform and an experience, one that invites readers to see themselves within its pages while discovering new perspectives.
Rooted in bold typography, dynamic layouts, and a balance of structure and experimentation, Mozaic blends contemporary editorial design with expressive, artistic elements. The visual identity draws inspiration from collage and fragmentation, reflecting the idea that identity is not singular, but made up of many pieces. Through carefully curated spreads, alternative covers, and cohesive branding, the magazine creates a visually immersive world that feels both intentional and fluid.
What sets Mozaic apart from traditional fashion publications is its emphasis on storytelling over trend. Rather than focusing solely on what is worn, it highlights why it is worn, exploring themes such as girlhood, transformation, confidence, and self-discovery. Each element of the magazine works together to create a narrative-driven experience that encourages reflection and connection.
At its core, Mozaic is built on three key values: authenticity, creativity, and inclusivity. It aims to amplify diverse voices, celebrate evolving identities, and challenge the idea of a fixed sense of self. More than just a magazine, Mozaic is an exploration of how design can capture the complexity of who we are, inviting readers to embrace every version of themselves.
