Thesis Abstract
The docu-series Human over Athlete: Mental Health in Sports explores mental health among athletes. No matter how big or small a story may seem, everyone faces mental health challenges, especially college athletes who must balance academics with the demands of their sport and team commitments.
This project follows the stories of three student-athletes at Endicott College as they share their journeys, the impact mental health has had on them, and how they’ve worked to overcome challenges—including learning how to move on from a sport they’ve played their entire lives. Through this series, I hope to inspire athletes and young people to open up and share their own mental health experiences, no matter what they may be facing.
