Artist Biography
Katherine Downey is a graduating graphic design senior from Gorham, Maine. Growing up, she always loved being outside and taking pictures with her camera. While photography remained a hobby, she discovered her passion for design in high school, where she took her first graphic design course and began learning her way around Adobe software, including programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Since then, she has grown through student work and four graphic design internships, including a summer internship at iBec Creative in Portland, Maine, and a semester-long internship at KingFish & Partners in Beverly, Massachusetts. Through classwork and various projects, she has developed strong interests in logo design, UX/UI design, packaging, and social media concepts. She approaches each project with simplicity and intention, aiming to create thoughtful, visually compelling work that tells a story and enhances everyday experiences.
This thoughtful, curious mindset extends beyond design and into her love of travel. During her third year at Endicott, she completed a semester abroad in Cork, Ireland—an experience that will always stay close to her heart. While abroad, she had the opportunity to travel to 12 other countries across Europe, which further broadened her perspective and deepened her appreciation for different cultures. She looks forward to exploring more of the world after graduation and continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
