Thesis Abstract

Headway Homes is a progressive low-income housing initiative dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by empowering residents with the tools and support needed to achieve financial independence. More than just a place to live, Headway Homes offers a structured, resource-rich environment designed to foster personal growth, stability, and long-term self-sufficiency.

The facility integrates affordable housing with access to essential services such as financial literacy programs, career training, easy access to child-care, and mock interview training. By prioritizing education, employment opportunities, and community engagement, Headway Homes creates a pathway for residents to build the skills and confidence necessary to transition into independent living.

Focused on sustainable transformation rather than temporary relief, Headway Homes serves as a model for how intentional design and comprehensive support can restore dignity, cultivate resilience, and create lasting change in underserved communities.
