Artist Biography
My work explores the subconscious mind and how it can transform our lives through conscious alteration. This exploration is deeply rooted in mindfulness and meditation practices, as well as the understanding of one’s identity. As a visual and performing artist, my goal is to evoke thoughts and remind viewers that life can be shaped by capturing the essence of being alive and embracing the life and experience of their own.
For my current senior capstone project, I am especially fascinated by the topic of the subconscious mind. As a psychology minor, I integrate psychological theories into my daily life and creative process. I believe psychology is a valuable tool for gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. I hope this research will encourage others to explore their own identities and embrace self-discovery as a path to healing.
For my artwork, I incorporate surrealist techniques in some of my acrylic paintings, and I am drawn to the medium’s immediacy and versatility. Influenced by artists like Salvador Dali, Morgan Dyer, and Matisse, I combined both surrealism and Fauvism color and form in my paintings. Through my artwork, I want to inspire others to look deeper into themselves and find joy in introspection.
