Thesis Abstract

Thrive Hub is a community wellness center designed to support high school & college-aged students in adopting healthier habits through access, education, and intentional design. Created in response to rising mental health concerns and limited access to fresh food and fitness resources, the hub integrates farm-to-table nutrition, movement, education, and restorative spaces to encourage whole-body wellness.Inspired by the gentle ripples in water, the design of Thrive Hub symbolizes both the outward impact of wellness on the mind, body, and spirit and the inward journey it takes to get there. Each layer of wellness—nutrition, movement, and mental support- works together to build a stable, grounded foundation. When students and community members feel secure, they’re then empowered to flourish—fostering stronger mental health. The center includes spaces such as a local produce market, fitness areas, group therapy, and a food literacy kitchen. Thrive Hub is more than a community center—it’s a system of support, designed to fit the needs of all and inspire a ripple effect of wellness throughout the community.
