Thesis Abstract
This capstone explores how depictions of love in art and personal relationships shape perceptions and memories and influence how we understand and engage with the world around us, revealing the powerful role love plays in the formation of identity and experience. Love is more than just a fleeting emotion; it is a force that shapes personal identity, molds memory, and influences how we engage with the world.
The research includes historical research and philosophical findings on love’s history, memory, and cognition. This project will explore the many findings and essays of various authors and even historical philosophers who dove into love and relationships. Not only is love a main focus of this capstone project, but also how this love from these relationships in life shapes memories and how someone is shaped to be later in life. Ultimately, this capstone project seeks to highlight love’s transformative power in not only personal lives but also in the broader narratives of human history and identity formation.
