Thesis Abstract
Ask a child to create something nobody has ever made before and watch their eyes light up as their brain becomes flooded with endless possibilities. Ask the same question to an adult and watch their face warp with fear and worry. Statistics have shown that people’s creativity decreases from 98% to 10% from the time people start and end their academic careers. Creativity is stigmatized in the educational system and actively suppressed in society, as it is often seen as dangerous and troublesome and, therefore not encouraged. Creativity not only moves society forward, but has such a strong influence on the individual in terms of mental health and wellbeing. Thus, creating a community center for people of all ages to explore and rediscover their creativity can promote creativity as a meaningful and necessary part of our society.
