Thesis Abstract
Sunday Road stands as a Non-Alcoholic Adult Seltzer crafted with your well-being in mind. We differentiate from our competitors by bringing the fun atmosphere of a versatile night out with friends without the dreaded hangover the next day. You can drink a Sunday Road to wind down after a hectic day at work or to calm your nerves about running into an ex-boyfriend at your local bar, the opportunities are endless. Most importantly, through creating Sunday Road, I wanted to create a haven for inclusivity and a way for people to share the stories and experiences of their journeys through life. The overarching purpose of my Capstone was to open the conversation of non-alcoholic adult beverages in a more positive light while additionally offering up an alternative that our audience would enjoy.
As an infrequent alcohol drinker myself, I wanted to zero in on inclusivity within the beverage industry rather than exclusivity by creating something simple and authentic for anyone to grab at the store. Sunday Road initially came to my mind because of my own experience as a college student. I struggled constantly with the peer pressure of drinking weekend after weekend and noticed this immense pressure to ‘be fun’ and enjoy the college experience. I felt like a target for questions by my peers when I wasn’t drinking in social scenes. I continued to feel isolated because of how BIG the drinking culture is when you are a young twenty-something, especially because no one else around me had felt even remotely similar. I decided to channel this insecurity turned passion, into something bigger, and then Sunday Road was born.
The Serene Sips Sampler comes with eight cans, with two of each flavor: Pear, Grapefruit, Blueberry, and Tangerine. Each seltzer combines natural ingredients like adaptogens, nootropics, and botanics, which helps to refresh our audience in both body and spirit. Combining these energy-altering ingredients helps to regulate your mood and power the energy, peace, and strength that is already within you.
A big thank you to my family, friends, and faculty members who have supported me throughout this challenging yet rewarding process.
