Thesis Abstract

The vision for FAB! Cosmetics is to create 60s road trip-inspired makeup products that empower individuals to express their unique style and creativity while fostering a sense of inclusivity that reflects the spirit of the 1960s counterculture movement. FAB! Cosmetics embraces creativity, allowing users to use makeup as an art form. The fun, free-spirited, and inclusive nature of the 1960s is the perfect representation of what the brand stands for and its core values. FAB! Cosmetics also incorporates contemporary beauty trends while staying open-minded and inclusive.

The designs resemble a road trip through different sceneries representing the freedom and liberty you have while traveling. This concept encapsulates the idea of letting the makeup serve as a means of exploration and adventure, inviting the customer to embark on a journey of self-expression and discovery. It also leaves room for interpretation, allowing each individual to envision their own unique destination or experience. The illustrative packaging is meant to intrigue the consumer and give them a sense of creativity and wonder all while portraying a sense of fun.

The brand is aimed towards primarily a younger audience but is open to all gender identities. The phrase “fab” is the shortened word “fabulous” which was a popular phrase during the time period. The line consists of six products: foundation, bronzer, blush, highlighter, lipstick, and an eyeshadow palette. The foundation has fifteen shades, and the bronzer, blush, highlighter, and lipstick have three shades. Each shade is mindful of undertones for all skin tones.

Thank you to my friends, classmates, family, and professors who have supported and guided me throughout this process. I feel your love and support, and would not have been able to do this without you!
