Thesis Abstract
The idea of Sidekick came from the overwhelming need to find homes for dogs in animal shelters and thoughts on how to make the process easier and more enjoyable. With this in mind, the Sidekick app was developed to operate similarly to a dating app. Sidekick enables shelters to register and showcase their dogs while users seeking a pet answer profile questions to find their perfect match. Utilizing user responses, the app presents compatible dog profiles with descriptions and allows users to express interest by liking the dogs profile.
Sidekick aims to go beyond traditional dog adoption services as pet lovers come together and support one another through the journey. The chosen brand name, “Sidekick” highlights the special bond between humans and their furry companions. This is done graphically with the use of a comic book theme to present the pet owner as a Superhero with its trusted and loyal sidekick.
Every Superhero needs a Sidekick!
