Artist Biography
Ellie Dionne is graduating in the spring of 2023 with a B.F.A in Interior Architecture. She has been recognized for her academic achievements on the Dean’s list and has been inducted into Kappa Pi Honor Society. She had the amazing opportunity to study architecture and design in Florence, Italy at FUA during the fall semester of her junior year. Over the last four years, she has immersed herself in various focuses of design through her coursework and internships. Outside the classroom, Ellie enjoys spending time with friends and family and relaxing at the beach. During her time at Endicott, she was part of the EDGE dance club and enjoyed performing in the showcase with her friends. Ellie looks forward to continuing her career in commercial design and becoming NCIDQ certified this fall. Ellie would like to thank all of her mentors, professors, family, and friends for their support and encouragement throughout her academic and personal endeavors.
Thesis Abstract
The United States spends over a trillion dollars towards preventive healthcare to treat chronic diseases. Chronic diseases are often the result of poor nutrition and inactivity. Healthy Roots is a sustainable wellness center that promotes healthy nutrition, exercise, and mental health, to reduce the rate of chronic disease, and improve the overall health and well-being of the community. The wellness center brings the community together through cooking classes, food tasting, meal planning, dinner recipes, and exercise classes. The goal of this center is to help the local community sustain good health to achieve an overall healthier physical and mental state of well-being.
