Artist Biography
Julianne Sullivan is a senior at Endicott College graduating in Spring 2021 with a BFA in Interior Architecture. For the past couple of years, she has gotten to experience many different sides of the design industry through multiple internships. This includes furniture sales/production, residential design, and commercial design. Her love of the planet, food, and community has inspired her design career to follow a path of restaurant and hospitality design. She plans to continue her work in the Boston area to create spaces that people can learn from and enjoy.
Thesis Abstract
While aware of the environmental crisis, the average consumer may not fully understand the scope of their impact. With everything Zero has to offer, consumers can both experience and learn how to shrink their environmental footprint cost-effectively. From understanding reliable sourcing to absorption of different sustainable energy, there is always something new to learn or experience in this innovative building scheme newly coined a food emporium. Zero is a farm-to-table restaurant that utilizes all aspects of sustainable farming that also provides the surrounding community with access to clean eating. The building incorporates systems that will ideally eliminate carbon emissions to beneficially affect the environment reflecting the similar notion that the restaurant is providing for people.
