Thesis Abstract

The purpose of Gavin’s Goose Snacks was to create a sustainable fruit snacks brand. Coming off an internship from an environmental nonprofit organization created the inspiration to do a sustainable brand. When searching for sustainable snacks or children-directed products there is not a company that really fits that description. This led to the idea of doing a fruit snacks brand since it is primarily a children’s snack food. For great marketing with children, there needs to be a loveable mascot for everyone to enjoy. Thus the creation of Gavin The Goose, the face of this brand.  Gavin The Goose is based on a snow goose that travels across the North American continent. He wears a blue hat that is representative of a hikers hat to symbolize his love for travel and exploration. His purpose is to promote sustainable living while also enjoying the nature found right outside your door. Encouraging kids to go outside and visit their local parks with a parent or guardian.

Gavin’s Goose Snacks then created a partnership with the National Park Service to promote the national parks. This led to the fruit snacks being inspired by different national parks with a new animal friend for Gavin. A colorful cast of animals is made to promote their own national parks such as Everglades National Park, Zion National Park, and Yellowstone National Park. Gavin’s Goose Snacks is going to donate part of its revenue to the National Park Service to help fund clean-up programs and wildlife conservation.
