Thesis Abstract
Interior architecture can improve the recovery process of female Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) victims by creating a perception of home within a therapeutic and residential setting, allowing for them to heal and feel empowered.
A well-designed domestic abuse shelter that utilizes research-based design and balances social support and privacy will help victims regain their independence and rediscover their sense of self.
