Artist Biography
Emily is a graduating member of the Endicott College class of 2022 with a B.F.A. in Interior Architecture. Her undergraduate studies have opened her eyes to the different paths within the design world that she is excited to explore following graduation. Some of these include sustainability, user-experience design, graphic design, and green business.
Emily completed her senior Fall internship in Portland, Maine where she enjoyed the perfect balance of city life and nature. She decided to continue living in Portland for her Spring semester of senior year. During her last year of college, Emily balanced a part-time job working at a hospitality design firm in downtown Portland and commuting to campus to take her senior thesis class. Through this experience, Emily was engaged by the mindful and progressive individuals living in Portland. She was inspired to learn more about the fast fashion industry and how consumers can make a sizable impact on the environment based on the decisions they make. Emily has a passion for fashion and thinks it is important to appreciate it in a sustainable and socially responsible way.
Thesis Abstract
There is a lack of knowledge within the younger generation surrounding fast fashion which is proven by the fact that fast fashion contributes to 84% of trash in the landfill globally. By utilizing different educational practices and making responsible options easily available, people’s consumption habits could be reduced.
