Artist Biography
Abigail O’Leary is an Interior Architecture and Design student at Endicott College reaching the end of her senior year. In May of 2022, she will graduate and receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Architecture. Throughout her time at Endicott College, she has immersed herself in learning many different types of design, including residential, commercial, healthcare, and hospitality. She also had the amazing opportunity to study architecture and design abroad in Florence, Italy. She completed her semester-long internship at Pitman and Wardley in the neighboring city of Salem, MA. There, she learned what it was like to work in the field of design. Abigail hopes to work in a small residential firm once she has graduated. Her undergraduate thesis tackles the issue of recidivism in urban areas and how design can play a role in reducing it.
Thesis Abstract
Recidivism can be reduced by introducing a connection to nature to reentry programs along with encouraging a changed mindset amongst inmates.
