Artist Biography
Lydia Popp is graduating from Endicott College with a B.F.A in Interior Architecture this spring of 2023. After transferring her junior year from Northern Essex Community College, with an associate’s degree in Art and Design, she knew she had a huge interest in interior design. She took an architectural drafting class in High school that she believes led her in the direction of design. She has been able to do three internships and many design classes during her time at Endicott, where she learned the importance of design and how it can impact anyone who uses each space. Outside of school, she loves to spend time with her friends and family. She hopes to travel and see the beautiful architecture across the world.
Thesis Abstract
There is a concerning increase in stress and anxiety in today’s generation of college students. Because of this, it is important for educational facilities to create built environments that promote a healthy mindset and enhance students’ overall mental health. Designing a new type of Thrive Center space that offers a variety of zones to the students will help them feel more comfortable and provide a place for stress relief where they feel safe and can relax.
