Artist Biography
Jake Matteau is a Senior at Endicott College (soon to be graduate!) with an Interior Architecture major with a bachelor’s of Fine Arts. In his time at Endicott, he has been an RA for three consecutive years. Two out of those three years he was an RA in the freshmen area. In his time here Jake has gained many friends and will miss everyone so much. He looks forward to the next chapter as he prepares for graduation!
Thesis Abstract
How do we provide support to those who are discovering themselves through gender identity and sexual preference in later stages of life?
Often times when talking about raising awareness for the LGBT+ community we talk about the younger generations finding themselves, while this is important there is a gray area for those looking to join the community later in life. Having a space made to inform/support older generations that are trying to navigate gender identity and sexual preference, would help an otherwise overlooked part of the community. This will be achieved by providing Gender Neutral Bathrooms, A gym for everyone to enjoy as well as Gender Neutral Locker Rooms, a comfortable cafe, as well as a Learning facility to teach people about the LGBT+ community.
