Thesis Abstract
How can people empower patients with traumatic injuries in their recovery by bridging the gap between rehabilitation and standard facilities like gyms?
Losing one’s individual freedom can cause emotional trauma when dealing with a traumatic injury or life-altering diagnosis. The process of treatment extends from rehab until patients can go about their life without interventions. However, there is a gap between rehab
and everyday life. By designing a facility that helps these patients transition from rehab to regular life we can impact their process of recovery.
