Artist Biography
My name is Noelle Pagliei and I am a senior graphic design major. I have had a passion for art and design since I was little and knew from the start I would follow that path into my future career. Graphic design stood out to me because I admired those who created and designed the brands and advertisements that are seen throughout crowded cities. I believe myself to be an enthusiastic designer who is personally driven and always aims to make my work seen through elegant and clean designs. My goal in the future is to design for a creative brand agency and work alongside famous brands in creating their style and image.
Thesis Abstract
For my senior thesis, I knew I wanted to create a brand with a powerful impact. Through my research, I felt that climate problems were only being looked at and not acted upon. I came up with, Overlooked, an environmental campaign to address this issue. Overlooked is an environmental campaign that is focused on the state of New Jersey. New Jersey has been hit hard with climate change-coastal flooding, air pollution, and extensive urban population are just some of the problems.
I developed the brand Overlooked through four deliverables which consisted of a style guide, infographic, website, and advertisements. I created a logo and style guide which was used as the basis of the brand. The logo incorporates an earth color palette with the three elements of the air, land, and sea. I then designed an infographic on the state’s climate change that includes facts and figures. Learning how to use the program Tableau, I created the tables and graphs using researched data. Next, I progressed with developing a website for the brand. I spent time gathering news, facts, and information that would fill the site. I developed and designed screens for each section of the brand along with a learn and donate page. My last deliverable consisted of three advertisements. These advertisements are meant to be eye-catching and shocking images with clever captions about the future of New Jersey. Through this campaign, I have hope to spread awareness and solutions about the effects of climate change on the state of New Jersey.
