Thesis Abstract

Through the integration of an outdoor experiential learning program, patients with chronic illnesses have been shown to develop stronger leadership skills, social awareness, and mental stability. By means of positive interaction and collaboration, supporters at the foundation promote a space for participants to reach their highest potential. Personal goals are achieved in a setting that is conducive for individual, sub-group, and whole-group learning. This indoor environment provides educational and recreational spaces for the organization’s experiential learning program in preparation to transition participants outside.
