Thesis Abstract

The mission of Attic ‘98 is a new clothing resale startup to provide a curated collection of vintage streetwear apparel while combating the increasingly relevant issue of sustainability in the clothing industry. A sector of this brand is dedicated to the upcycling, redesigning, and support of young designers who redesign vintage apparel in both creative and progressive ways. The clothing industry today has a huge issue, almost 30% of the clothes manufactured today will never be sold or worn. Attic ‘98 tackles this issue head on through the resale of vintage items or the upcycle redesigning of vintage garments. Providing a platform for new designers to showcase their ideas, and serving as a way for the clothing community to expand into more sustainable consumer choices.
